Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the safety architecture for a complex SoC software platform covering hypervisor integration, bootloader, and OS-level components.
  • Derive and allocate safety requirements from the system level to software components.
  • Design freedom-from-interference safety mechanisms across partitions, cores, and privilege levels.
  • Own the software safety architecture for hypervisor-based virtualization, including QNX Hypervisor integration.
  • Maintain hardware-software interface definitions and support integration with SoC safety features such as MPU, MMU, ECC, and lockstep cores.
  • Collaborate on safe bootloader design, integrity checking, and startup and shutdown sequences.
  • Contribute to safety analyses and review software implementations against architectural intent.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar safety architecture role.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 26262 Part 6 for software and Part 4 for system-level context.
  • Hands-on experience with SoC platforms in safety-relevant projects and understanding of hardware safety features.
  • Experience with hypervisor architectures such as QNX, Xen, or similar in safety or mixed-criticality contexts.
  • Low-level software experience with bootloaders, bare-metal systems, RTOS, or operating-system internals.
  • Ability to translate system safety requirements into implementable software designs.
