Responsibilities

  • Drive QA strategy, risk analysis, test planning, release readiness metrics, and quality gates for Mirantis Secure Registry and cloud-native environments.
  • Architect test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices, distributed systems, multi-cluster deployments, and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Design production-like test scenarios covering workload scaling, failure injection, recovery, failover, system health, and network resilience.
  • Develop scalable test automation integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes APIs, Helm, service meshes, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Promote performance, security, chaos, load, and resilience testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Mentor QA engineers and developers in advanced testing, troubleshooting, automation, and quality practices.
  • Serve as a QA authority in design reviews, production-readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, debugging, and CI/CD testing automation.
  • Influence architecture decisions and advocate for a culture of quality across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, including 4+ years focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
  • Leadership experience building and scaling enterprise-grade test strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Pytest, Bash, and related tools.
  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security, RBAC, secrets management, and performance benchmarking tools such as k6.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure provisioning, containerized CI/CD, Linux administration, networking, firewalling, routing, certificate and PKI management, Docker or containerd, kubectl, Helm, OCI registries, and Flux.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and test multi-cluster environments, including Bash debugging, systemd and logs, and GitOps workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, architectural thinking, communication, cross-functional influence, and senior-leadership collaboration skills.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching at least one junior team member.
  • Preferred qualifications include contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling, Kubernetes chaos-engineering experience, and certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
