Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, across Checkout.com’s engineering organization.
  • Define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems using industry best practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, extensible, and testable code for impactful payment systems.
  • Build, deploy, own, and operate systems to high standards of resilience and service.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
  • Stay current with and share knowledge of technologies used at Checkout.com.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their technical development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in .NET, C#, Java, Go, or Python and a strong understanding of software development principles in a backend or full-stack environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Payments or financial knowledge is advantageous but not required.
