Responsibilities
- Build shared abstractions, build systems, distribution systems, and observability foundations for Cursor’s desktop client.
- Improve client performance and reliability by addressing memory leaks, crashes, and frame-time inconsistencies.
- Design instrumentation and telemetry systems for profiling, structured logging, and performance measurement.
- Partner with product teams to improve release velocity and support daily client updates.
- Evaluate Electron and native approaches for critical code paths and guide architectural tradeoffs.
- Build internal tooling that enables engineers to ship safely and quickly on the client platform.
Requirements
- Deep experience with client infrastructure, including build systems, performance, distribution, or observability.
- Experience building or contributing to high-performance desktop applications using Electron or native technologies.
- Strong focus on performance, reliability, developer experience, and elegant systems design.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, collaborative, product-focused environment.
- Interest in advancing AI-driven developer tools.
