Base Salary
$142k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own multi-cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including workload placement, network topology, resilience, and platform design.
- Define Kubernetes architecture at scale, including cluster topology, multi-cluster and multi-cloud strategy, scheduling, autoscaling, and multi-tenancy.
- Own the infrastructure-as-code foundation using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
- Design and validate multi-region, multi-AZ, failover, and disaster recovery patterns supporting a 99.95% uptime target.
- Lead capacity and resilience planning and drive architectural remediation following incidents.
- Partner with engineering teams to translate product, traffic, and scaling requirements into infrastructure plans.
- Support technical due diligence and post-acquisition system integration, including migration and replatforming plans.
- Establish architecture standards, mentor senior and Staff-level engineers, and advise Directors and platform teams.
- Evaluate AI tooling for infrastructure automation, code generation, and operational workflows.
Requirements
- 10+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including significant architecture ownership at scale.
- Deep production experience designing and operating across at least two major cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong Kubernetes platform experience, including cluster topology, multi-cluster strategy, and platform-level architecture.
- Experience designing highly available systems with multi-region, multi-AZ, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or similar tools.
- Ability to anticipate infrastructure and capacity needs before they become blockers and influence technical direction without formal authority.
- Direct experience with M&A technical due diligence and post-acquisition system integration.
- Experience with enterprise architecture, including data, integration, or security architecture, is preferred.
- Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure or AI-enabled engineering workflows is preferred.
- Experience in a private-equity-backed or acquisition-heavy organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF is preferred.
