Base Salary

$88k - $123k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain backend code for device state and command APIs, event pipelines, lifecycle management, and partner-facing integrations.
  • Complete assigned features independently with high-level direction and participate in design and code reviews.
  • Own work across design, implementation, testing, release, documentation, and production readiness.
  • Lead small projects or well-scoped workstreams and contribute to moderately complex multi-engineer projects.
  • Debug production issues, support incident response and postmortems, and build observable and supportable software.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools for implementation, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation while rigorously validating output.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QE, PM, PgM, and operations, and assist with onboarding more junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–3 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Solid programming fundamentals and the ability to independently deliver maintainable backend code and debug effectively.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, basic distributed systems patterns, and event-driven or asynchronous processing.
  • Demonstrated ownership of assigned work from design through delivery with proactive communication.
  • Familiarity with software development processes including design, implementation, code review, testing, and release.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development workflows with rigorous review and validation.
  • Preferred: experience with .NET, C#, and SQL Server.
  • Preferred: exposure to event-driven architectures, message queues, or streaming systems.
  • Preferred: experience with partner-facing APIs, integration-heavy backend systems, shared platform components, device-oriented systems, IoT platforms, or production observability.
