Responsibilities
- Integrate robust, scalable, reliable, and observable AI solutions into insurance operational processes.
- Integrate AI-driven solutions with existing systems while coordinating technical requirements and deployment strategies with IT, operations, and data science teams.
- Own end-to-end delivery of features across data pipelines, models, APIs, services, and front-end UI.
- Develop backend services in Python and FastAPI and front-end applications using Angular or React.
- Use automated testing, CI/CD tools, observability practices, and agile delivery methods.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to align solutions with business needs and high-quality data.
- Stay current with software engineering and AI advancements and contribute to the team knowledge base.
- Mentor squad members and influence the technical roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 6 years of significant development experience.
- Strong Python backend development skills and proficiency with Angular or React.
- Experience with FastAPI, SQL, automated backend and UI testing, observability, and Git.
- Proficiency with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure, Amazon S3, Snowflake, BigQuery, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
- Strong data engineering skills and experience translating business problems into technical solutions.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Kiro.
- Understanding of GenAI concepts including prompting, agentic frameworks, evaluations, guardrails, RAG, embeddings/vector databases, fine-tuning, graph databases with LLMs, MCP, and reasoning models.
- Databricks Unity Catalog and Delta Lake experience and MLOps knowledge are assets.
- For candidates in Quebec, bilingual French-English communication is required.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment.
