Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, test, and support full-stack Java applications, services, and APIs from implementation through production support.
- Develop and support native iOS applications in an enterprise environment.
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues, investigate incidents, restore service, perform root-cause analysis, and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, and other partners to deliver quality solutions and stable application environments.
- Contribute to monitoring, change management, system upgrades, disaster recovery, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Participate in a rotating schedule for on-call and after-hours production support.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience developing and supporting enterprise back-end Java applications, including Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
- At least 4 years of front-end development experience using React, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and supporting native iOS applications in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of web services and APIs, including REST, SOAP, JSON, and Java APIs.
- Working knowledge of middleware and application server technologies such as WebSphere or WebLogic.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and working with SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases.
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
- Additional assets include Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, iOS architecture patterns, third-party frameworks, Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket/Git, Gradle, Maven, CDD, Ansible, web security, multi-factor authentication, Kafka, and proxy technologies.
- Must obtain Reliability Security Clearance and satisfactorily complete applicable law-enforcement, credit, and other background checks, including required Government of Canada travel and residence history disclosures.
