Base Salary

$192k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build MCP servers and API schemas optimized for AI-agent tool discovery, comprehension, token budgets, and multi-tenant workspace isolation.
  • Build and operate infrastructure for multi-step agent workflows, including state management, tool routing, execution runtimes, persistent processes, human-in-the-loop patterns, retries, fallbacks, and execution tracing.
  • Manage LLM workflow operations including model upgrades, prompt versioning, A/B testing, container compatibility, output quality monitoring, token capacity planning, and rate governance.
  • Design and operate production AI infrastructure including vector storage and indexing, chunking and metadata strategies, document parsing pipelines, multi-region deployment, caching, and token-aware routing.
  • Make RAG architecture decisions involving embeddings, retrieval filtering, and coordinated data models.
  • Build AI-specific CI/CD, deployment rollback, observability, token usage dashboards, response quality metrics, agent traces, and cost-per-workflow tracking.
  • Provide documented platform primitives that enable product engineering teams to deliver AI features faster.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building or operating AI/ML infrastructure in production.
  • Strong Python experience; TypeScript and Node.js are nice-to-have.
  • Experience with LLM APIs, vector databases, or AI orchestration platforms.
  • Experience in several areas including AWS cloud infrastructure, ECS, S3, Bedrock, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipeline design, API design, workflow orchestration engines, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with some AI-specific tooling such as Claude, OpenAI, vLLM, SageMaker, embedding pipelines, prompt management platforms, or agent frameworks.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical tradeoffs involving AI infrastructure, reliability, and scalability.
