Responsibilities
- Design and build low-latency, high-availability backend services for alarm detection and response.
- Create extensible AI-powered workflows for intrusion and video monitoring use cases.
- Build distributed systems integrating internal products and third-party notification, transcription, and dispatch services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, frontend engineers, and firmware engineers on end-to-end customer experiences.
- Own systems from design through production while promoting testing, observability, and continuous deployment best practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong programming skills, with Go preferred.
- Knowledge of distributed systems design, API architecture, and event-driven workflows.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience with databases such as Postgres and scalable data systems such as Kafka and Redis.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver robust, maintainable software in fast-paced teams.
- Familiarity with Temporal or other workflow engines is a bonus.
- Experience with Kubernetes, monitoring tools, and performance optimization is a bonus.
