Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain GitLab pipelines for application deployment.
- Support migration of legacy repositories and workflows from Bitbucket to GitLab.
- Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure across AWS GovCloud, edge, and Navy networks using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
- Drive containerization and administer Kubernetes environments for mission-critical applications.
- Develop Helm charts and maintain cluster resilience through automated Kubernetes backups and recovery testing with tools such as Velero.
- Automate RHEL image hardening and STIG checklist execution.
- Integrate continuous security scanning into pipelines to maintain ATO status and support ICAM integration.
- Establish continuous monitoring, alerting, and reporting using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Manage cryptographic lifecycles, secrets, and automated key rotation.
- Collaborate with developers, DevSecOps engineers, and Navy users to improve platform stability, security, and speed.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance or higher and eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance are required; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a clearance.
- DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification is required, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
- At least 5 years of DevSecOps or Platform Engineer experience in DoD, federal, or highly regulated environments.
- Significant experience deploying and managing AWS GovCloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on Kubernetes administration and custom Helm chart development experience; CKAD or CKA is preferred.
- Strong RHEL system administration experience and scripting for automated system or container hardening.
- Advanced proficiency building GitLab pipelines and experience migrating from Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of ICAM protocols including SAML, OAuth2, and OIDC.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python.
- An automation-centric approach and security-first mindset.
- Prior U.S. Navy program or command-and-control platform experience, IL5+ environment experience, AWS Solutions Architect or Developer Associate certification, and a master's degree in computer science or a related field are preferred or advantageous.
