Responsibilities
- Own platform components across design, development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
- Deliver complex platform engineering capabilities and contribute to scalable distributed-system architecture.
- Develop and operate cloud-native microservices using Python, Java, or Go with Kubernetes and containers.
- Integrate platform capabilities with SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, SAP HANA, and enterprise services.
- Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and actionable alerts.
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, and developer productivity.
- Apply secure-by-design principles covering authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, network security, encryption, and sensitive data.
- Drive technical decisions, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and identify reusable patterns that reduce complexity and technical debt.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with product management, architects, and globally distributed engineering teams.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or backend systems development.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software design principles.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, API design, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Go and experience delivering production-quality software.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, containers, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Experience building, debugging, and operating distributed services in production.
- Knowledge of automated testing, software delivery practices, observability, production troubleshooting, reliability engineering, and performance optimization.
- Strong security fundamentals and secure software development experience.
- Ability to make technical decisions, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and communicate design proposals clearly.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, strategic leadership, and operational excellence skills.
- Experience with SAP BTP, SAP AI Core, SAP HANA, or other enterprise cloud platforms is advantageous.
