Responsibilities
- Build and evolve React product surfaces for authentication, session setup, workspace navigation, file review, streaming agent activity, results review, and administration.
- Develop reusable components and Express/TypeScript APIs supporting session orchestration, file management, workspaces, usage tracking, and product capabilities.
- Implement real-time server-sent event experiences that render agent output, tool activity, plans, progress, costs, file changes, warnings, and workflow states.
- Manage streaming lifecycle, retries, cancellation, cooperative stop, resumption, error recovery, and user feedback for long-running workflows.
- Improve the custom multi-turn agent runtime, including model-provider messaging, streaming response parsing, tool execution, result observation, and iteration in isolated containers.
- Develop proprietary tools, schemas, permission boundaries, workspace access patterns, validation, and reusable tool-extension patterns.
- Integrate OpenAI, Anthropic, and other model providers while maintaining prompt, context, token, usage, caching, summarization, and model-selection systems.
- Own session, file, and workspace lifecycles including uploads, previews, downloads, remote execution, interruption, resumption, review, cleanup, and teardown.
- Implement enterprise security, authentication, authorization, privacy, reliability, structured logging, tracing, transcript capture, metrics, tests, and debugging tools.
- Collaborate with product, domain, backend, infrastructure, and security stakeholders while contributing technical notes, estimates, sprint planning, and development improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Engineering, or another relevant discipline with programming or technology experience; an advanced degree is desirable.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on ownership across frontend, backend, and production product systems.
- Strong TypeScript experience across React frontend development and Node.js/Express API development.
- Experience building complex component-driven React applications with interconnected views, real-time updates, and robust error handling.
- Experience with server-sent events, WebSockets, streaming APIs, or similar event-driven interfaces.
- Experience building LLM-powered agentic systems with tools, multi-turn workflows, state management, and error recovery.
- Experience with LLM tool or function calling, tool schema design, streaming tool input/output, and provider-specific implementations.
- Strong prompt engineering skills for structured, multi-step workflows involving policies, methodology, roles, and tool usage.
- Comfort working in Python for agent tools, data processing, automation, evaluation, and analytical-library integrations.
- Understanding of browser authentication, JWT lifecycle, token refresh, CORS, secure cookies, role-based access, and frontend/backend security boundaries.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, schema design, queries, migrations, and data access patterns.
- Experience with Docker or Linux-based execution environments, isolation, filesystem access, dependency management, and runtime troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience includes custom agent frameworks and runtimes, orchestration loops, tool-extension systems, evaluation harnesses, OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, file-heavy applications, rich incremental React content, sandboxed compute, Azure services, Docker, GitHub Actions, cloud observability, headless browser automation, document generation, data analysis, visualization, file conversion, R, LaTeX, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with responsible AI, model evaluation, transcript review, quality controls, AI governance, and enterprise AI adoption is preferred.
