Base Salary
$188k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the customer journey from lead through onboarding and activation across the Paxos Dashboard and Identity APIs.
- Instrument the onboarding funnel, identify friction and drop-off, and run experiments to improve conversion and time-to-activation.
- Design, build, and operate backend services for KYC/KYB, identity verification, screening, and identity lifecycle management.
- Use AI to automate compliance workflows such as document review, case triage, and risk assessment.
- Own integrations with third-party identity and screening vendors, including asynchronous workflows and webhooks.
- Build GDPR erasure and PII-handling capabilities into the platform.
- Write design documents, lead technical decisions, mentor teammates, and participate in on-call.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building production backend systems, including at least 1 year at a senior level.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or Python, with Go strongly preferred.
- Experience designing APIs and data models for sensitive or regulated data.
- Ability to focus on outcomes such as conversion, activation, and time-to-value.
- Ability to turn ambiguous requirements from non-engineering stakeholders into clear technical plans.
- Experience with identity, KYC/AML, onboarding systems, growth engineering, experimentation, production LLM features, or Persona is a bonus.
- Uses AI tools daily to work faster and better.
