Responsibilities
- Deliver backend features across the Kerberos, TOTP, and FIDO2/WebAuthn authentication service portfolio.
- Write, test, review, deploy, debug, and document distributed services in Java, Go, or C#.
- Implement identity and federation protocols including Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, TOTP, SAML, and OIDC.
- Contribute to design specifications, research spikes, work-item refinement, and feature sequencing with senior engineers and product stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call, production debugging, monitoring, root-cause analyses, incident remediation, and runbook maintenance for a tier-0 platform.
- Use telemetry including metrics, logs, traces, and SLIs to support a 4+ nines availability target.
- Apply security-first, least-privilege practices and critically review human- and AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and security.
- Answer integration questions from internal service teams and infrastructure owners.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is acceptable with additional years of experience.
- Strong production programming experience building backend services in Java, Go, or C#.
- Working knowledge of at least one of Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, TOTP, SAML, or OIDC.
- Experience building, deploying, and debugging distributed services in AWS, GCP, or hybrid environments using Kubernetes.
- Understanding of software fundamentals including data structures, testing, code review, source control, CI/CD, and Agile execution.
- Ability to debug distributed production systems using logs, metrics, and traces and to execute plans independently while escalating design-level decisions.
- Preferred: IAM specialist depth, familiarity with HSMs, PKI, secure credential storage, PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, high-visibility on-call operations, and AI development tools.
