Responsibilities

  • Onboard development teams and their applications to the internal Kubernetes Platform in a standardized manner.
  • Partner with development, Kubernetes platform engineering, operations, and other teams to improve platform solutions and adoption.
  • Advocate for cloud-native practices and help teams optimize applications for containerization, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with Release Engineering to implement GitOps practices, CI/CD workflows, automation, and version-controlled deployments.
  • Troubleshoot containerized applications, platform configurations, connectivity, and Kubernetes deployments.
  • Create documentation, practical examples, onboarding materials, training sessions, and workshops for developers.
  • Gather development-team feedback and improve onboarding processes, tooling, support offerings, and developer experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on cloud-native technology expertise.
  • Expertise with one or more of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, Docker, or Podman.
  • Experience with Kubernetes observability tools for metrics, monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools such as GitHub Actions and a strong understanding of DevOps principles.
  • Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, including Go, Python, Java, or Node.js, plus shell scripting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support containerized applications in Kubernetes environments.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with container security practices, image scanning, and Kubernetes role-based access control.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation; OpenShift Operators, CNCF projects, and Helm charts are also preferred.
