Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly objectives while leading engineers through complex, ambiguous problems.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify project, process, technology, and business challenges and lead solution development.
- Define and monitor service reliability metrics, participate in incident management, and contribute to on-call and operational excellence.
- Establish software design, architecture, code review, quality, and engineering excellence practices.
- Mentor engineers, provide feedback, share knowledge, and influence technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable backend systems using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems in cloud environments using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to define and execute technical plans for significant features or system components with scalable, maintainable, and extensible designs.
- Experience working in large codebases and implementing substantial changes safely through engineering best practices, automation, testing, and deployment processes.
- Experience with high-scale, customer-facing platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, continuous-learning, and feedback skills.
