Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team objectives while leading engineers through complex and ambiguous problems.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Analytics on product ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify project, process, technology, and business challenges and lead solutions.
- Design and support reliable, highly available services by defining metrics, participating in incident management, and contributing to on-call operations.
- Establish software design, architecture, code review, quality, and engineering excellence practices.
- Mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, share knowledge, and influence technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable backend systems using Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems in cloud environments using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to define and execute technical plans for significant features or system components with scalable, maintainable, and extensible designs.
- Experience working in large codebases and implementing substantial changes through engineering best practices, automation, testing, and deployment processes.
- Demonstrated ownership, continuous learning, professional growth, and proactive feedback.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across distributed global engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with high-scale customer-facing platforms, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, infrastructure as code, modern DevOps practices, mentoring, and cross-team technical influence.
