Responsibilities
- Develop software and applications that support engineers and improve software development processes.
- Build and scale Java, Python, and other-language services to handle hundreds of users and thousands of requests per minute.
- Design storage solutions and data models for relational and non-relational datasets, including queries and reports for analytics and dashboards.
- Collaborate with customers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver tools, features, and software change strategies.
- Write design documents, explain technical tradeoffs, and drive changes across teams and organizations.
- Ensure the reliability and success of developer productivity tools across persistence, data, business logic, service API, and front-end layers.
- Manage projects independently from design through production and address complex testing and reliability challenges.
Requirements
- Experience as a software engineer on developer platform or productivity teams, preferably with Java or Python backend development.
- Experience building complex applications and scaling services to hundreds of users and thousands of requests per minute.
- Strong software design skills, including researching and clearly documenting technical tradeoffs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across customer and partner teams.
- Demonstrated experience writing tests and solving difficult testing and reliability problems in complex domains.
- Ability to use data for quantitative decision-making and derive useful signals from noisy systems.
- Platform Engineering expertise and passion for maintaining software ecosystem health.
- Familiarity with managing applications in AWS and with core AWS services such as EC2 and S3.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container management solutions.
- Experience designing, building, and operating continuous delivery and continuous integration systems.
- Full-stack development experience spanning persistence and data layers, business logic, service APIs, and front-end user experience.
