Base Salary
$240k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy for critical Banking initiatives across multiple teams.
- Design and evolve reliable, scalable systems for money movement, bank account experiences, payment orchestration, and financial infrastructure.
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into durable technical solutions with cross-functional partners.
- Identify and resolve systemic reliability, quality, and operability issues while improving observability, incident prevention, and engineering standards.
- Drive architecture reviews, align stakeholders, and guide tradeoffs in ambiguous technical spaces.
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders within the Banking organization.
- Contribute hands-on through design, debugging, rollout strategy, and implementation for high-stakes initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior technical leadership on complex, multi-team initiatives.
- Track record leading architecture and delivery for large-scale distributed systems in product or platform engineering environments.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to turn complex technical and organizational problems into actionable plans.
- Experience improving reliability, operational excellence, and engineering quality in production systems with meaningful customer or business impact.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, operations, compliance, risk, and other functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Hands-on technical depth and sound engineering judgment, including implementation-level work when needed.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and scaling technical leadership.
- Preferred experience in fintech, banking, payments, ledgering, money movement, regulated environments, large migrations, platform consolidations, service modernization, external financial partnerships, third-party integrations, and organization-wide technical strategy.
