Responsibilities
- Lead feature delivery while participating in the full software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, verify, troubleshoot, and deliver storage systems or major subsystems, including authoring project specifications.
- Develop and maintain software-defined storage solutions and managed cloud services.
- Perform systems or kernel programming involving filesystems, networking, or file and cloud protocols.
- Monitor and improve system health, availability, latency, performance, and reliability using native tooling.
- Work on development, bug fixes, updates, specification updates, customer root-cause analyses, and automation.
- Engage in incident management to resolve production issues within agreed SLAs/SLOs.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in interviews, and contribute to building high-performance teams.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 12+ years of professional experience and 5+ years in technical leadership positions.
- Hands-on coding experience with proficiency in C or C++; Python is advantageous.
- Strong understanding and extensive hands-on experience with block/file technologies and software solution design.
- Experience with system or kernel programming and filesystems, networking, or file/cloud protocols.
- Experience with ONTAP or similar storage operating systems.
- Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge.
- Knowledge of hypervisors, cloud storage, and cloud services such as databases, caching, object and block storage, scaling, monitoring, and load balancers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
