Responsibilities
- Develop, design, program, integrate, maintain, monitor, and tune software, network devices, system hardware, and communication architectures.
- Develop and support applications using .NET technologies, Windows platforms, APIs, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
- Provide tier II or tier III support, troubleshoot operational problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop prevention procedures and controls.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential attacks affecting networks, system hardware, software, and other system connections.
- Lead or participate in technical implementations, rollouts, installations, disaster recovery planning, and testing.
- Create functional specifications, technical documentation, architecture and requirements artifacts, diagrams, charts, and problem databases.
- Coordinate with vendors and user departments on product evaluations, troubleshooting, installations, and RFP processes.
- Participate in software test strategy, device, and system development.
- Lead and mentor one to two junior engineers in design, development, and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent applied experience.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 4 years of experience developing with .NET technologies in complex systems environments, including technologies such as .NET, WCF, SharePoint, and SSRS.
- At least 5 years of experience designing, documenting, maintaining, and supporting APIs.
- At least 5 years of experience developing Windows applications or n-tier client/server systems using professional programming languages, with at least two of C#, Java, JavaScript, WPF, VB.NET, T-SQL, AJAX, and Silverlight.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows internals, messaging, the Windows API, and multithreading techniques.
- Working knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, networking protocols, and network programming interfaces.
- Working knowledge of ODBC, ADO, and XML.
- Experience with full-lifecycle software design, commercial or open-source development processes, and development tools.
- Ability to produce technical documentation, including software architecture and requirements documents and other design artifacts.
- Development experience with SQL Server databases and T-SQL in high-transaction-volume environments, plus knowledge of SQL Server internals.
- Preferred ITIL V4 Awareness Training, real-time transaction processing experience, AWS or Azure experience, CI/CD and deployment pipeline knowledge, and experience using AI to assist development or diagnostic efforts.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary certifications or licenses.
