Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robotics SDKs, cloud-hosted APIs, edge runtimes, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Design extensibility and integration architecture for autonomy capabilities, models, partner hardware, and customer-specific logic across cloud and edge environments.
- Build production-grade robotics data infrastructure, including instrumentation, data acquisition, human-in-the-loop workflows, dataset versioning, curation, and quality governance.
- Own authentication, authorization, API compatibility, multi-tenant isolation, and performance across cloud-edge boundaries.
- Define the platform CLI, SDK patterns, documentation, sample code, and inner-loop developer workflow.
- Collaborate on compute orchestration, data routing, model serving, experiment tracking, ML training, sim-to-real transfer, and online evaluation workloads.
- Lead technical design reviews, write architecture decision records, establish engineering practices, and mentor senior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.

- Expertise in cloud-native systems, microservices, Kubernetes, service mesh, API gateways, CI/CD, and preferably Azure.
- Proficiency in C++, Rust, or Go for systems components and Python for tooling, data pipelines, and ML integration.
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS2, real-time systems, or edge computing platforms.
- Familiarity with ML infrastructure including ONNX, TensorRT, Triton, training orchestration, experiment tracking, or feature stores.
- Experience with simulation infrastructure, digital twins, or CI-based physics simulation testing pipelines.
- Experience designing multi-tenant platforms with partner-facing APIs, developer portals, API versioning, and backward compatibility.
- Understanding of agentic AI architectures, tool use, multi-agent coordination, and human-in-the-loop workflows for physical systems.
- Contributions to open-source robotics, cloud, or developer tooling projects, or published work on relevant platform architecture or distributed systems.
Benefits
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
