Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop backend services and APIs supporting Intuitive’s robotic fleet and application workflows.
- Build and maintain customer-facing web applications and contribute to user experience development with product and design teams.
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing within CI pipelines.
- Contribute to CI/CD, observability, operational support, documentation, health endpoints, and uptime monitoring.
- Partner with embedded, infrastructure, data, security, and quality teams to deliver compliant and data-driven solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues and participate in incident management and reliable release practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant software engineering experience, including backend services or API development.
- Strong experience building backend services and APIs using TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Svelte.
- Experience designing GraphQL, REST, or gRPC APIs with clear contracts, documentation, versioning, and backward compatibility.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, service-side data modeling, transactional systems, automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, AWS deployment, Docker, and Kubernetes or equivalent orchestration technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems, reliability, failure handling, observability, and operational support.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes medical devices or regulated industries, data privacy requirements, third-party and EMR integrations, and mobile application development.
