Cloud Solutions Architect

- Architect the platform for enterprise scale on AWS.
- Evaluate the scalability of the Postgres/Supabase backend and design caching tiers, multi-region architecture, and global federation.
- Own load-testing strategy and responsiveness targets across geographies.
- Ensure security and access-control requirements for sensitive content are met.
- Produce architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical standards.
- Guide and mentor engineers on cloud best practices and patterns.
- Define non-functional requirements for availability, resilience, cost, and observability.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to meet enterprise controls.
- Support build-versus-buy decisions and technology evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in architecture.
- Senior cloud architecture experience on AWS; Solutions Architect Professional certification is preferred.
- Experience designing high-scale, low-latency, multi-region distributed systems.
- Experience with caching strategies, data federation, and performance/load testing.
- Experience with security architecture, including RBAC and ABAC.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation and containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of networking, IAM, cost optimization, and observability tooling.
- Ability to work within an established enterprise engineering lifecycle and become operational quickly.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.
- Prior consulting experience.
- Prior Life Sciences industry experience and connections are preferred.
