Responsibilities
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through development, testing, delivery, and maintenance.
- Lead and participate in product investigation, design, coding, testing, estimation, integration, and deployment activities.
- Build and enhance enterprise software in C across Linux and Windows environments.
- Troubleshoot complex product and customer issues using debugging tools and network trace analysis.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Perl, Python, REST, XML, JSON, UI frameworks, and web servers.
- Apply HTTP, SSL, and FTP protocols in product development and troubleshooting.
- Establish best practices that improve product quality, code quality, maintenance, supportability, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with globally distributed development, quality, support, product, and customer teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Strong C programming skills in Linux and Windows development environments.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases.
- Understanding of HTTP, SSL, and FTP communication and web protocols.
- Experience with source code repositories such as SVN and TeamForge.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of enterprise software lifecycles, development and quality methodologies, and hybrid agile and waterfall processes.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and customers.
- Knowledge of network trace analysis, application integration and deployment, Perl, Python, REST, XML, JSON, UI, web servers, Java, or enterprise backend and data-center products is preferred.
