Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to more junior engineers.
  • Lead epics and initiatives and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated, scalable, high-performance software solutions and microservices.
  • Perform system design and feature grooming for assigned subsystems.
  • Align backend architecture with front-end design, user experience, business needs, and customer expectations.
  • Improve code quality through reviews, optimization, and engineering best practices.
  • Design and operate cloud-based systems, APIs, distributed data systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional and engineering teams.
  • Address complex technical challenges and support production monitoring, reliability, and observability.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of relevant software development experience, focused on SaaS or cloud-based applications.
  • Experience leading or playing a key role in significant software projects.
  • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for creating, deploying, and managing containers.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Expertise designing and architecting microservices, distributed data management, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience designing and operating software on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with relational databases, NoSQL stores, and data caches.
  • Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin, Python, and C#.
  • Experience designing and developing APIs and understanding HTTP/HTTPS protocols and API documentation.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, design patterns, software engineering practices, server management, network configurations, and the SDLC.
  • Preferred experience with large-scale, high-availability systems, security-focused development, observability, production monitoring, third-party components, feature or release toggles, contract-first design, and technical documentation.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and continuous-learning abilities.
