Responsibilities

  • Develop, code, implement, and enhance application features and functionality.
  • Support business-as-usual activities and existing applications through production monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate with peers to maintain robust, maintainable solutions and high coding standards.
  • Perform operational and platform lifecycle work including patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and production support.
  • Build APIs, microservices, and integrations with new and existing banking platforms.
  • Mentor and support developers and testers through knowledge sharing, coaching, and collaboration.
  • Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in software development and enterprise application support, ideally with 6–8+ years in complex environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot applications, APIs, and production systems.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, API integration patterns, and security fundamentals including API gateways, mTLS, JWT, and secure service communication.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Spinnaker, Docker, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
  • Experience deploying containerised applications to managed orchestration platforms such as EKS, ECS, or OpenShift.
  • Experience with operational and platform lifecycle activities, including patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and production support.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and agentic tooling.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous messaging or event-driven architectures such as Kafka or MQ is advantageous.
  • Proactive, dependable, collaborative, communicative, pragmatic, and comfortable owning critical systems and outcomes.
  • Ability to mentor others, handle complex production issues methodically, and work with engineering, delivery, risk, vendor, and business stakeholders.
