Base Salary
$186k - $266k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance backend services in Elixir.
- Architect and evolve distributed systems and services running in Kubernetes.
- Optimize systems for scale, resilience, observability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
- Work across service boundaries and own critical architecture and service design.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor in backend development.
- Prototype and integrate AI-powered optimizations for throughput, latency, anomaly detection, and distributed-system efficiency.
- Contribute to AI-enabled developer tools and platforms, including automated code reviews, test generation, and observability dashboards.
Requirements
- Experience with Elixir or a strong background in other backend or functional programming languages.
- Familiarity with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Kubernetes, and observability solutions.
- Experience designing distributed systems with clean APIs and modular components.
- System design and architecture skills focused on reliability and performance.
- Experience with continuous delivery of software systems.
- Rust programming experience is preferred.
- Extensive production experience with Elixir is preferred.
- Familiarity with Pingora or Nginx is preferred.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience is preferred.
