Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and execute long-term technical strategy focused on reliability, observability, and delivery of business priorities across brand sites.
- Research, evangelize, and drive adoption of paved-path architecture patterns and engineering standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers, conduct design reviews, and resolve advanced technical issues.
- Collaborate with P5-level Engineering Leads to standardize the technology stack.
- Own performance, scalability, resiliency, and system integrity for mission-critical cloud-based services.
- Influence department-wide technical planning and manage technical risks for critical site projects.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer or architect.
- Strong command of web architecture principles, including HTTP, DNS, caching, REST, and GraphQL.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-volume distributed services on Amazon Web Services.
- Proven ability to drive technical decisions across multiple teams and communicate complex technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

- The hiring range is $155,700–$208,700 per year in Glendale, California, and $163,100–$218,700 per year in Seattle, Washington.
