Base Salary
$156k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, modernize, and own guest-facing web applications across frontend code, APIs, identity integrations, and caching behavior.
- Define and execute technical strategy and architecture standards across the organization's brand sites.
- Lead legacy platform migrations and large-scale standardization efforts while coordinating work against live traffic.
- Improve developer experience through tooling, debugging interfaces, deployment models, and automation.
- Establish review gates, validation, and observability standards for AI-assisted development.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, design reviews, and collaboration with engineering leads.
- Own the performance, scalability, resiliency, compliance, and technical risk management of critical cloud-based services.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience as a software engineer or architect.
- Production experience building and shipping guest-facing web applications with React, TypeScript, server-side rendering, backend services, and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP, DNS, caching strategies, REST, and GraphQL.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-volume distributed services on AWS, including CloudFront or an equivalent CDN.
- Demonstrated experience leading a legacy platform migration or large-scale standardization effort to completion.
- Ability to influence technical decisions beyond the immediate team and communicate complex tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Varnish, HAProxy, or CloudFront configuration; cache policy design; developer tooling; debugging interfaces; branch-based deployment models; gated AI-assisted development; and Datadog observability and alerting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- Hiring range is $155,700–$208,700 per year in Glendale, California, or $163,100–$218,700 per year in Seattle, Washington; bonus and/or long-term incentive units may also be provided.
