Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain foundational frameworks and shared components for Android.
- Write efficient, tested native mobile application code and participate in code reviews.
- Define and improve engineering standards, codebase consistency, development processes, and tooling.
- Own architecture contributions and support additional engineers in scaling mobile development.
- Drive end-to-end product quality, reliability, app performance, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers on product development.
- Prototype new ideas and explore emerging mobile technologies.
- Monitor app performance metrics and use insights to drive improvements.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through technical blogs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 4–7 years of professional experience as an Android mobile developer.
- Hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin and native Android application development.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture, Android Framework, Android SDK, and Android Studio.
- At least 3 years of experience solving low-level design problems in distributed systems.
- Expertise with Android UI components and controls, including Jetpack Compose, Action Bars, Widgets, and Fragments.
- Expertise with Android Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider components.
- Experience integrating web services using REST and JSON, along with cloud technologies such as AWS, GAE, and Firebase.
- Experience with analytics, location and social APIs, MDM, payment gateways, SMS gateways, media content transcoding, cloud integration, and APM tools.
- Strong technical background, problem-solving ability, and commitment to high-quality software delivery.
- Deep understanding of application performance metrics and improvement strategies.
