Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements, design, implementation, and verification activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Design, code, test, and implement medium- to high-complexity safety-critical embedded software.
- Develop or modify low-level requirements, design documentation, and test documentation to meet customer specifications and schedules.
- Perform integration, testing, maintenance, and documentation for onboard signaling systems.
- Communicate progress and technical decisions with project personnel and collaborate with senior engineers.
- Complete assigned tasks with accountability and minimal supervision while following department and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience designing embedded hardware/software systems; safety-critical experience is preferred.
- Deep hands-on technical skills with C/C++ in a PC or Unix environment.
- Experience applying control theory and control engineering principles to system design.
- Technical and functional knowledge of electronic circuits and software design.
- Requirements and configuration management, problem-solving, debugging, planning, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with Motorola 68xxx-based architecture, Altera Nios, Xilinx MicroBlaze, or digital signal processing is desirable.
- Ability to work in a team, take initiative, follow processes, build effective relationships, and work to schedules.
