Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy applications that satisfy business and functional requirements.
- Design and implement Java microservices using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive programming techniques.
- Build and maintain scalable services using Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK, and AWS.
- Participate in domain-driven design, API design, architectural discussions, design-pattern evaluation, and technical documentation.
- Implement logging, auditability, security, and monitoring features.
- Write test cases, validate service scalability, and participate in code reviews using the team’s testing and review practices.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Promote responsible AI use, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and reusable engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Formal training and certification in software engineering plus 3+ years of applied experience.
- Working knowledge of Java and willingness to perform hands-on coding.
- Exposure to distributed architectures involving large data volumes or real-time distribution.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, test-driven delivery, microservices, REST APIs, databases, SQL, non-SQL stores, and event-based architecture.
- Experience or exposure to caching solutions such as Redis, Gemfire, or Apache Ignite and messaging solutions such as Kafka or IBM MQ is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Exposure to Spring and AWS cloud services is preferred.
- Familiarity with trading systems and the FIX protocol is an advantage.
