Base Salary

$149k - $286k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and delivery of cross-cutting developer-productivity capabilities across desktop applications, backend services, data and analytics platforms, governance workflows, and AI coding tool integrations.
  • Build backend APIs, data models, ingestion flows, dashboards, and user experiences connecting AI tool usage to actionable engineering outcomes.
  • Set technical direction, translate ambiguous requirements into design and delivery plans, and partner with product and engineering stakeholders on priorities and feasibility.
  • Establish telemetry, SLIs and SLOs, controlled rollouts, playbooks, and long-term ownership practices while leading incident investigation and root-cause analysis when needed.
  • Build and ship secure, optimized, production-grade software while using AI development tools and designing systems where AI agents support human workflows.
  • Improve team technical quality through design and code reviews, coaching, pairing, delegation, and accountability for technical outcomes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience designing and building production software, including full-stack applications, backend services, developer tools, or internal platforms.
  • Strong programming experience across frontend, backend, APIs, data stores, and distributed system boundaries.
  • Experience taking ambiguous product or platform requirements through design, implementation, testing, rollout, and production ownership.
  • Ability to communicate designs clearly, make technical tradeoffs, influence stakeholders, and lead complex cross-team work.
  • Demonstrated AI-first engineering approach using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
  • Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to create precise prompts and reliable system context for secure, production-ready AI outputs.
  • A related technical degree is required.
  • Preferred experience includes developer tools, AI coding integrations, internal platforms, telemetry systems, enterprise desktop applications, React, TypeScript, Go, service APIs, event pipelines, analytics systems, and cloud or Kubernetes-based services.

  • The stated base salary range is $148,500–$260,100 annually, or $178,900–$285,800 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas; bonus, equity, and benefits may be separate.
