Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, reliable data pipelines serving clean, structured data across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Own the architecture of data models for transportation data including bookings, payments, and driver activity.
- Lead development across the data lifecycle from architecture and design through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor data quality and reliability and resolve discrepancies before they reach stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to identify needs, design proofs of concept, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the adoption and evolution of the modern data stack, including dbt, Airflow, Iceberg, and AWS big data tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with production-grade Python and SQL.
- Experience with data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS, including Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, and Firehose.
- A platform mindset focused on reliability, observability, and systematic production debugging.
- Terraform/IaC skills and experience reading, modifying, and shipping changes for EKS-based deployments.
- Fluency with AI workflow tools such as Cursor and Claude.
- Experience with modern data stack tooling; dbt, Airflow, and Iceberg are significant advantages.
- Familiarity with AWS big data services and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, independent problem-solving, and the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into precise data models.
