Base Salary
$200k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineers while stewarding engineering best practices.
- Own systemic, cross-service problems from definition through design, implementation, and rollout.
- Design, build, and harden identity and access management capabilities, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, and OAuth/OIDC flows.
- Strengthen AWS and cloud infrastructure security, configuration, and operational guardrails.
- Improve performance, security, and optimization for high-volume transactional databases.
- Harden APIs, services, and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
- Lead production incident remediation, resolve root causes, and build observability to identify issues early.
- Partner with the Security/CISO team to turn identified security gaps into durable engineering solutions.
- Build and scale performant, secure, customer-centric services and user-facing web applications.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems.
- Primarily backend engineering experience with comfort working across the stack; a core engineering background is preferred over a purely product-focused background.
- Demonstrated experience shipping meaningful work in security, scale, or infrastructure as a builder.
- Strong Java and AWS skills, with the ability to learn modern technology stacks quickly.
- Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Postgres, and Kubernetes.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is ideally preferred.
- Fintech, payments, or experience in security-sensitive and highly regulated environments is a plus.
- Strong ownership, communication, resilience, creative problem-solving, and collaborative judgment.
