Senior Software Engineer - Office Security
Mercado LibreResponsibilities
- Design and implement a new authorization model to reduce manual access requests and automate actions for application owners.
- Build sensitive-data protection capabilities, including confidential-data anonymization, endpoint separation, and context-based access controls.
- Evolve authentication and authorization mechanisms for applications, services, and AI tools.
- Own initiatives end to end, including technical design, architecture proposals, implementation, testing, progressive deployment, observability, and production follow-up.
- Collaborate with traffic, identity management, data security, internal systems, and reliability engineering teams.
- Promote engineering best practices through code reviews, pair programming, and operational on-call duties.
Requirements
- Advanced backend software development experience using Java or Go.
- Experience designing REST APIs with synchronous or asynchronous communication.
- Experience operating relational databases or BigQuery.
- Advanced knowledge of application security, authentication and authorization mechanisms, threat modeling, least privilege, distributed architectures, and network proxies.
- Knowledge of clean code, unit testing, integration testing, Git, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.
- Active and responsible use of coding assistants and generative AI tools to optimize development processes and agentic workflows.
