Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to QA engineers and SDETs while providing work direction without direct reports.
- Serve as the primary QA point of contact and coordinate quality efforts across engineering, product, distributed teams, and vendors.
- Define, plan, estimate, and execute test strategies aligned with project scope, timelines, and delivery goals.
- Oversee manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
- Review test cases, maintain automation frameworks and scripts, and drive adoption of test automation.
- Use AI-driven tools and modern testing techniques to improve test design, automation development, defect detection, and QA efficiency.
- Implement versioning and environment promotion practices for automation assets.
- Track and prioritize defects, analyze quality metrics, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support release planning and readiness by providing QA sign-off against defined quality criteria.
- Ensure test environments and secure, realistic test data are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of general Software Quality Assurance experience and 6 years of SDET or automation-focused experience.
- Previous experience acting as a QA lead or key contributor on complex, cross-functional projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle, Agile methodologies, and modern testing practices.
- Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks, tools, methodologies, and automated test solution development and maintenance.
- Experience testing APIs, including RESTful and SOAP services, and validating system integrations.
- Technical foundation in software development concepts, object-oriented programming, and design principles.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines including Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, or Copado.
- Experience collaborating with distributed and cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations.
- Preferred experience with Salesforce, APIs, MuleSoft, middleware, cloud-based systems, and enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare or regulated environments, compliance, data sensitivity, and quality standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
