Responsibilities
- Improve Trainline’s engineering platforms and infrastructure for reliable service deployment, operation, and management.
- Implement clear, consistent, reusable infrastructure changes using Terraform.
- Apply least-privilege and secure-by-default principles across AWS accounts.
- Build automation scripts and tooling using Node.js or Python to reduce manual effort.
- Test, validate, and deploy changes through CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with Senior Platform Engineers, Tech Leads, Delivery Managers, and engineering stakeholders to deliver milestones.
- Provide delivery updates, raise blockers and risks, and continuously improve engineering practices.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, IAM, or CloudFront and knowledge of cloud operational and security best practices.
- Experience delivering infrastructure changes with Terraform.
- Ability to deliver defined tasks with minimal supervision while communicating progress and risks.
- Experience using Node.js or Python for automation, scripting, or integration tasks, or transferable experience with similar programming languages.
- Understanding of secure engineering, least-privilege access, and secure-by-default infrastructure.
- Experience using AI tooling for coding, research, code review, or productivity support.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in agile, delivery-focused teams.
- Helpful experience with Git-based CI/CD pipelines, multi-account AWS environments, CDN, WAF, or service-to-service authentication such as OIDC.
