Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy global and local path-planning, trajectory-optimization, and multi-agent-coordination algorithms.
- Build real-time command-and-control software for mission-planning tools, autonomous tasking, and unmanned-system fleet routing.
- Implement planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems for safe and efficient operation in dynamic and contested environments.
- Analyze planner performance using high-fidelity simulations, modeling tools, and statistical techniques.
- Develop algorithms for collaborative autonomy, asset routing, obstacle avoidance, and threat avoidance.
- Integrate path-planning technologies into the command-and-control software lifecycle from requirements definition through testing and optimization.
- Communicate technical progress and actionable insights to colleagues, operators, and end users.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling.
- Programming expertise in C, C++, and/or Rust.
- Strong knowledge of graph-based search, sampling-based planning, and online or real-time replanning techniques.
- Experience with guidance, navigation, and control; trajectory optimization or prediction; or predictive models for vehicle dynamics and weapon-system effectiveness.
- Understanding of linear algebra, optimization, computational geometry, and graph theory.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, kinematic constraints, and control theory for autonomous ground, air, or maritime platforms.
- Familiarity with map representations, terrain reasoning, state estimation, and large-scale geospatial and environmental data in distributed command-and-control architectures.
- Exposure to machine learning for planning and decision-making, including reinforcement learning, learned heuristics, and behavior prediction.
- Ability to write robust concurrent code and develop systems from prototypes through optimized production software.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Experience with Rust for high-performance, safety-critical software is preferred.
- Experience working with mixed greenfield and brownfield codebases and extending production planning or routing stacks is preferred.
