Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated and manual test plans for software, hardware, firmware, and IC solutions.
- Create test requirements, methodologies, detailed test cases, documentation, and test reports.
- Debug software and hardware issues, determine root causes, and distinguish software, hardware, and firmware defects.
- Analyze test results, report defects, and support issue resolution with development and customer-facing teams.
- Drive test automation, validation framework improvements, QA best practices, test coverage, and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and customers to validate digital controller solutions.
- Mentor team members and contribute to testing strategy, planning, process improvements, and lab management.
- Identify risks, raise issues, and recommend product and process improvements while balancing quality, timelines, and feature delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
- 2–5 years of Software QA experience, including at least 2 years testing software integrated with hardware or firmware.
- Experience developing GUI test automation in Python or another object-oriented language, using tools such as Qt Squish or SmartBear TestComplete.
- Experience with electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications is expected; power systems, semiconductor, or IC experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with lab test equipment, measurement tools, JIRA, version control, QA best practices, and software/hardware development lifecycles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills for complex hardware/software debugging.
- Ability to mentor teams, improve test coverage, drive quality initiatives, raise risks, and recommend improvements.
- Background in both Software QA and IC or power engineering is preferred.
