Base Salary
$125k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Bring up next-generation space-grade silicon, including in-house system-on-chip designs and peripherals.
- Develop bootloader-to-business-logic software for deterministic, secure, and performant Linux-based spacecraft and ground systems.
- Maintain and update in-house branches of Linux, Buildroot, and U-Boot.
- Support secure boot and runtime security for Linux-based satellite components.
- Maintain spacecraft Ethernet networking and connectivity.
- Develop, deploy, and test spacecraft software update processes.
- Support in-house systems-on-chip and peripherals throughout their lifecycle.
- Develop and support OS/platform test infrastructure and device drivers for third-party and in-house components.
- Serve as the first software team to receive new satellite components and support them through operations.
- Collaborate with silicon, electrical, and application software engineers to transition hardware from prototype to on-orbit operations.
- Own the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree; internship experience is applicable.
- Development experience in C, C++, Python, and/or Rust.
- Preferred experience with upstream Linux Kernel patches and the Linux networking stack.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and modern secure boot flows.
- Experience with ARM embedded systems.
- Understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.
