Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, maintain, test, implement, and support mission-critical mainframe applications for credit card and payment processing.
  • Analyze business requirements, create technical designs and specifications, and implement application enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call support, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Support batch processing, online transaction processing, application monitoring, system integration, disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity activities.
  • Participate in modernization, automation, performance optimization, technical debt reduction, code reviews, quality gates, and engineering standard activities.
  • Collaborate with business, product, architecture, infrastructure, QE, operations, and vendor teams, while mentoring junior developers and sharing technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience and 3–5 years of mainframe development experience.
  • Strong experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, IMS, IBM mainframe development, file processing, and batch application development.
  • Experience supporting large-scale banking, payment, or other financial applications, including production support and incident management.
  • Experience across application design, development, testing, implementation, production support, and Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise mainframe architecture, integration patterns, software engineering principles, design methodologies, and SDLC practices.
  • Preferred experience with credit card or banking domains, card processing platforms, API and distributed-system integrations, GitHub, DevOps and CI/CD tools, and mainframe modernization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to independently perform complex development and troubleshooting activities.
