Base Salary
$100k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python scripts and libraries for simulation-data analysis, log extraction, and mission or system-performance metrics.
- Build tools that process simulation outputs, telemetry, rosbags, and other test artifacts.
- Maintain automated test workflows and wrappers around HMS Forge and other test-orchestration tools.
- Develop test adapters, configuration files, automation utilities, scenario-generation tools, and domain-randomization scripts using Python and sometimes C++.
- Investigate test failures and simulation issues using logs, configuration files, telemetry, rosbags, network captures, and automated test results.
- Support containerized and distributed testing environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, and batch simulation configurations.
- Maintain source-control practices, dependency updates, CI/CD pipelines, software builds, reusable test templates, and standardized reporting outputs.
- Create developer documentation, setup guides, API references, example workflows, and workspace templates.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, test reviews, and collaborative debugging with autonomy, simulation, platform, and program teams.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- Foundational software-development experience in Python from coursework, internships, research, personal projects, or professional experience.
- Familiarity with Python scripting, automation, data processing, Linux development environments, command-line tools, shell scripting, installation, and debugging.
- Understanding of Git-based version control, code review, automated testing, and debugging.
- Familiarity with structured data formats and APIs including JSON, YAML, CSV, REST APIs, or command-line interfaces.
- Exposure to automated testing, CI/CD systems, simulation environments, robotics, autonomy, data pipelines, or developer tooling.
- Basic understanding of container concepts and tools such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Preferred experience includes Python data-analysis workflows with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, matplotlib, or Plotly; CI systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Buildkite; and test frameworks such as pytest, unittest, GoogleTest, or Robot Framework.
- Preferred familiarity includes Dockerfiles, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, ROS, ROS 2, rosbag files, robotics middleware, network diagnostics, simulation logs, distributed computing, Ray, Monte Carlo testing, parameter sweeps, Design of Experiments, and Linux observability tools.
