Sr. Lead Software Engineer - Performance and Resiliency Engineering

Responsibilities
- Lead load, stress, and soak testing, capacity modeling, performance tuning, KPI and guardrail definition, and regression prevention.
- Improve production readiness through metrics, logs, traces, APM, actionable alerting, incident triage, and durable root-cause remediation.
- Strengthen resiliency with timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, backpressure, rate limiting, graceful degradation, and failover readiness.
- Drive safer releases through canary or progressive delivery and automated rollback patterns.
- Optimize containerized workloads across EKS, ECS, and other compute platforms, including autoscaling and right-sizing strategy.
- Partner with application development and infrastructure/platform engineering teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-team engineering guidance.
Requirements
- Senior experience in performance engineering for distributed systems and/or SRE-style reliability engineering in production.
- Strong AWS and Kubernetes/EKS experience, with ECS exposure beneficial.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or CloudWatch.
- KEDA and/or Karpenter experience is a significant plus.
- Akamai experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively across teams.
