Responsibilities
- Become a domain expert in an area of Stripe’s payments stack.
- Identify and implement automated solutions and tool updates to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with financial partners to align on product usage and troubleshoot technical problems or breakages.
- Organize and direct complex technical changes and projects between Stripe and financial partners.
- Automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes through code changes, partner agreements, and coordinated changes across Stripe.
- Design anomaly detection systems and tools to ensure reliable and accurate data flows.
- Collaborate with engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to trace and account for money movement transactions.
- Handle technical inquiries from internal teams and external partners, including detailed investigations and code changes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical role such as Technical Operations or Software Engineering.
- Experience managing communications and workflows with technical and non-technical internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to write high-quality code and make well-scoped changes in Stripe’s codebase.
- Comfort using SQL to navigate data and diagnose issue scope and urgency.
- Ability to build operational processing and tooling from scratch to prevent repeatable issues.
- Comfort using developer tools such as Git.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, including code investigation, documentation review, debugging, log analysis, and raw data analysis.
- Knowledge of payment technologies and ecosystems is preferred.
- Experience managing communications and workflows with external financial partners and vendors is preferred.
