Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing Laboratory tour and protocol resources.
  • Design, develop, and create a SharePoint site, secure AI assistant, and supporting internal processes.
  • Develop automated datasets and Power BI dashboards for upcoming tours and visits.
  • Create a procedural notebook for ongoing administrative management of the site, dashboard, and AI assistant.
  • Train department staff on the use and maintenance of new tools.
  • Support testing, documentation, user feedback collection, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled college or university student in good academic standing at an accredited institution pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory under Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.
  • Experience developing AI-enabled applications or using large language model APIs.
  • Experience with programming or software development.
  • Demonstrated experience with SharePoint site design, Power Automate, Power BI dashboard development, or Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience documenting technical processes and training nontechnical users.
  • Experience in event operations, protocol, communications, or business-process improvement for a national laboratory is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. person for U.S. Export Control purposes.
  • External applicants selected for the position must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule with part-time remote work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, full-time summer work, and onsite work and meetings during academic breaks as needed.
  • Hourly pay range of $23.26-$31.62, with step placement determined by the most recently completed academic year.
  • Holiday pay, sick leave accrual, and individual 401(k) contributions.
  • No security clearance is required.
  • Assignments longer than 179 cumulative days within a calendar year require Personal Identity Verification, including a background investigation and approval.
  • Work may involve Limited Areas with restrictions on personal and laboratory mobile and wireless devices.
