Responsibilities
- Define and own the architectural vision for Streamlit in Snowflake across runtimes, embedding SDKs, developer tooling, and Snowsight integration.
- Drive next-generation platform capabilities and shape the architectural direction of features in development.
- Represent Streamlit in Snowflake in company-wide architecture forums and influence broader application platform strategy.
- Establish standards for performance, reliability, scalability, startup time, and high availability.
- Lead technical design and review for high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives involving infrastructure, Snowsight, Cortex/AI, security, and the open-source Streamlit project.
- Author specifications, implement changes, review pull requests, and set standards for code quality, API design, and system architecture.
- Mentor senior engineers and develop the next generation of technical leaders.
- Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into robust engineering solutions.
- Advocate for developers and end users while balancing Python developer experience with enterprise scalability needs.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of architecting and shipping production-grade developer platforms or application runtimes.
- Strong expertise in Python application runtimes, server-side frameworks, distributed execution environments, performance, reliability, and lifecycle management at scale.
- Strong understanding of container-based execution environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, and SPCS.
- Hands-on experience designing and evolving developer-facing SDKs, embedding APIs, or component libraries with API versioning and backward compatibility.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical programs spanning multiple teams and organizational boundaries without direct authority.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS reliability requirements including multi-tenancy, scale, security reviews, and graceful migrations.
- Familiarity with the open-source Streamlit framework or similar Python-based application frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with IdP integrations, OAuth flows, or authentication systems for embedded or public-facing web applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, browser APIs, WebSockets, service workers, and iframe or cross-origin security models is a plus.
