Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, launch, and support large-scale software development projects.
- Design and maintain Node.js backend applications and production systems.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and work with authentication, authorization, security best practices, and performance optimization.
- Design data models and optimize queries for SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Build and maintain UI components supporting backend functionality using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.js or similar frameworks.
- Use Git and collaborative development workflows while working in an Agile/Scrum environment with JIRA.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, collaborate with internal and external clients, and create solutions to business problems.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement, documentation, and presentations.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of professional software development experience, emphasizing backend engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency with backend technologies such as Node.js and Perl.
- Strong experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Database expertise with SQL and/or NoSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Understanding of system architecture, design principles, HTTP, authentication and authorization, security best practices, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum development.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker or Kubernetes; microservices architecture; React or Angular; and performance optimization is preferred.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and produce strong documentation and presentations is preferred.
