Responsibilities
- Design and develop performance-optimized ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using database pushdown, CDS views, associations, annotations, AMDP, and SQLScript.
- Build modular, testable ABAP code, services, and APIs using modern design, OData exposure patterns, authorization checks, and contract-first practices.
- Model enterprise business entities and reusable data artifacts for transactional, analytical, integration, UI, and AI retrieval use cases.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM integration, tool-calling orchestration, retrieval-grounded outputs, prompts, schemas, context assembly, fallbacks, and guardrails.
- Create automated unit, integration, and contract tests plus AI evaluation harnesses, golden datasets, scenario tests, monitoring, and regression coverage.
- Implement logging, metrics, traces, error handling, retries, idempotency, correlation IDs, runbooks, and incident-response diagnostics.
- Integrate SAP services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, cloud runtimes, API gateways, and enterprise integration layers.
- Collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to prototype and deliver secure, compliant, scalable production systems.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views, associations, annotations, authorization concepts, and modern data modeling.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown.
- Strong software engineering discipline, including clean design, testing, production readiness, and CI/CD orientation.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Experience with OData and service design patterns, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is beneficial.
- Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance requirements is beneficial.
