Responsibilities
- Define system enhancements, prepare technical design specifications, and implement application solutions.
- Analyze and maintain codebases while using scripting tools and automated workflows to support development and deployments.
- Design and develop high-availability, fault-tolerant, and low-latency systems.
- Build and integrate RESTful JSON APIs and microservices.
- Develop frontend applications with React, HTML5, and modern JavaScript, and backend services with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
- Apply automated testing and Test-Driven Development practices for unit, capacity, and failure testing.
- Identify, debug, and remediate application vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Provide third-line production support and resolve operational issues.
- Mentor junior developers and lower-level analysts and lead technical aspects of deliverables.
- Consult with users, clients, product managers, and technology teams on technical solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and assess technical and business risks while following regulatory and internal controls.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of professional software development experience in web applications and backend systems.
- Strong experience with React.js, HTML5, modern JavaScript/ES6+, and Redux or an equivalent state management library.
- Experience developing with Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and writing optimized SQL queries.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful JSON APIs and applying UML, data structures, and software design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development and test automation runners such as Karma, Jest, and JUnit.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Git and Bitbucket.
- A bachelor’s or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience delivering medium-to-large-scale complex projects.
- Strong communication, documentation, and technical writing skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
